PSNA Names New Director of Professional Development

The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA), representing more than 217,000 registered nurses in Pennsylvania, announced that Suzanne Wurster, MSN, RN, CEN, has been named Director of Professional Development. Wurster will oversee the management of continuing education and program development.

Wurster comes to PSNA with more than nine years of experience teaching with Thomas Jefferson University, Lancaster General Health, and Chester County Hospital. In those roles, she assisted in the development of a three-year BSN concept-based program, provided classroom and clinical instruction, and managed education for 200 employees. In addition to her education experience, Wurster was an emergency department staff nurse and charge nurse.

In 2004, Wurster earned a diploma in nursing from Brandywine School of Nursing. She earned both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2009) and a Master of Science in Nursing (2012) from Drexel University. Her post-master’s certificate from Drexel University focused on complementary and integrative therapies (2013). In 2015, Wurster began her PhD in nursing education at Nova Southeastern University.
