Sponsor our Young Nurse Professionals (YNPs)!
New RNs have a vision of their ideal work setting, community, and future. The Young Nurse Professionals (YNPs) group is a simple solution to advancing careers, mentorship, building networks, and creating change. YNPs are made up of traditional students who studied nursing straight out of high school, as well as RNs who chose nursing as a second career. YNPs join PSNA to build a community of peers, discuss career-related concerns, provide insight into their specific needs, take on new roles as leaders, and make their communities a better place to live.
Standing Together: Caring for Each Other
September 24, 2021
Featuring Carolyn Jones
Carolyn Jones—author and filmmaker behind “The AmericanNurse Project” and “Defining Hope”—spent 10+ years documenting the work of nurses across the country, a journey that led her to conclude that “without them, we don’t stand a chance.” That was before the pandemic that has thrust our nation’s nurses even further onto the frontlines of healthcare. When COVID hit, she had an opportunity to see what emergency nurses were dealing with on the front lines of the pandemic. In this session, Jones will share excerpts and stories, including the recently released “In Case of Emergency,” shedding light on some of the biggest health care challenges facing Americans today—from the opioid crisis to gun violence to behavioral health and lack of insurance—and the ways in which nurses are able to tackle them head-on.
