PSNA is holding a Members’ PSNA Election Tele-Town Hall on August 21 at 6 pm. Here’s what members need to know:
- Members (who have a phone number on file with PSNA) will be called shortly before the 6 PM start of the Town Hall on August 21.
- The phone call will instruct members on how to participate and hear from PSNA’s Vice Presidential candidates.
- Members will be able to hear from and speak with our 2019 Vice Presidential candidates.
- The Town Hall should last no more than 1 hour.
- We ask that members prepare 2-3 questions they would like to potentially present to the candidates.
Voting will be open August 13 through September 13. Watch your in-box for a “How-To” email from Vote-Now. Members without an email on file will be mailed information. Visit our News & Events page for candidate profiles.
RSVP is required – click here (limited seating)
According to the National Institute on Aging, elder abuse can happen to anyone—no matter the person’s age, sex, race, religion, or ethnic or cultural background. Each year, hundreds of thousands of adults over the age of 60 are abused, neglected, or financially exploited. This is called elder abuse.
Join PSNA on October 23 for a panel discussion to identify types of abuse, discuss the signs of abuse, address who can help, and more. There is no cost to attend this event.
This event is open to healthcare professionals, students, and the general public.
Location: PSNA Headquarters
Speakers include:
- Pamela Cacchione, Associate Professor of Geropsychiatric Nursing, UPenn
- Jennifer Cummings, Assistant Clinical Professor, Dept. of Advanced Practice Nursing, Drexel University | Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP
- Department of Aging
- Betsy Snook, PSNA CEO
PSNA’s Annual Legislative Day
In response to COVID-19, the Department of General Services has announced that, effective Friday, March 13, 2020, all public events in the Capitol Complex will be canceled until further notice.
This includes all buildings reserved and included in PSNA’s annual Legislative Day.
Please stay tuned as PSNA makes final decisions regarding this event.
Should the event be canceled, all paid registrants will be reimbursed. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA) will hold its annual Legislative Day on April 8, 2020 in Harrisburg. Nurses and students are invited to join us as we advocate for the profession and our patients in Pennsylvania.
PSNA’s Legislative Day is an important and informative day for nurses in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, nurses are under-represented in our state’s legislature. Although we are the largest group of healthcare providers in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, only two members of the General Assembly are RNs. Therefore, it is our responsibility and privilege to share our knowledge and expertise with local officials.
