The impact of the pandemic on the nursing profession has been profound. It has accentuated and hastened the challenges we have faced for many years in terms of an aging workforce, severe shortages of RNs, lack of decision-making authority, inadequate working conditions and compensation issues.
As nursing leaders, we are called upon to deeply consider how to improve this situation in our own organizations and in the nursing profession.
This webinar will provide insight into the current situation and how we can begin to address it. Topics to be covered include:
- The current nursing workforce and state of nursing
- Incoming nurse graduates: Their traits, pre-licensure learning experiences, and what they fear
- Issues and challenges of the nursing workforce: Confronting what isn’t working, committing to change, and showing value to nurses
- What lies ahead? Opportunities for moving forward, implementing new and effective strategies, and the role of nurse leadership
