Meet Our Guest Speaker
Jennifer Ruby RD, LDN, CDCES
My name is Jennifer Ruby and I’m a registered dietitian and diabetes care and education specialist at WellSpan Endocrinology, previously Summit Health Endocrinology. I completed by Bachelor of Science in 2005 from Marywood University. I began my career in 2006 as a clinical dietitian at Menno Haven Skilled Nursing, Chambersburg. I moved to the VA Medical Center in West Virginia in a weight management program for veterans from 2010 to 2011, which led me to my certified personal trainer certificate from the World Instructor Training Schools, Hagerstown Community College.
In 2016, I took the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators examination to obtain credentials as a certified diabetes educator (diabetes care and education specialist). With this credential, I help patients with diabetes create a meal plan to help with blood sugar control, medication training, and technology education like glucose meters and continuous glucose monitors.
I am a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and hold dietitian-nutritionist licensure with the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing. In addition, I attain my registered dietitian credentials with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
