As healthcare professionals, nurses have a unique understanding of the impact of policies and decisions related to healthcare on patients and communities. Voting allows nurses to have a say in who gets elected and what policies are implemented at all levels of government, from local to national.

By voting, nurses can help ensure that elected government leaders share their values and beliefs on issues important to the nursing profession, such as patient safety and the modernization of professional nurse law. Nurses also have the opportunity to advocate for policies that promote social justice and equity in healthcare.

Furthermore, nurses are highly respected members of their communities and can use their influence to encourage others to vote. By engaging in the democratic process, nurses can significantly impact their patients’ and communities’ health and well-being.
