PSNA members are eligible to join the PSNA Legislative Ambassador Program. PSNA is looking for ambitious members to represent nursing’s voice to Pennsylvania’s legislature. Ambassadors play a crucial role in advancing the association’s legislative agenda. This program offers Ambassadors the opportunity to participate in a broad range of advocacy initiatives while building relationships with elected officials. Ambassador Roles and Responsibilities:
- Participate in Ambassador virtual calls (as needed)
- Be a registered voter
- Send letters of introduction to elected officials
- Attend face-to-face meetings with elected officials
- Communicate with legislators via phone, letter, and email
- Submit Letters to the Editor and Op-Eds (as needed)
- Set aside personal political agendas when representing PSNA
- Maintain robust connection to PSNA
- Inform PSNA of your Ambassador activities
- Respond to and share PSNA Action Alert emails
- Educate RNs on PSNA’s legislative priorities
Ambassadors Also Receive:
- Advocacy and healthcare updates on a “first-to-know” basis
- PSNA’s Advocacy Academy (online education, includes contact hours)
- Legislative agenda, talking points, policy briefs, and position papers
- Legislative materials to leave with your legislators
- Opportunities to provide testimony
- PSNA Legislative Ambassador business cards
