PSNA Endorses Tarik Khan, RN

The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association – Political Action Committee (PSNA-PAC), which represents the interests of the Commonwealth’s 228,000 registered nurses, announced support today for Tarik Khan MSN, RN, FNP-BC for the office of State Representative for the 194th Legislative District.

Khan is a Philadelphia family nurse practitioner who serves on the frontlines of the pandemic while completing his PhD in nursing. As a nurse educator, Khan lectures on primary care for patients with developmental disabilities and health policy advocacy. Khan currently serves as chairperson of Enabling Minds, a non-profit in Haiti that serves children with developmental disabilities. For over 13 years, Khan has advocated for nurses, patients, and healthcare teams throughout the state, working to improve outcomes for vulnerable populations, lobbying for safe patient safety standards, and representing the nursing profession through numerous outreach efforts, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, CNN, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell, and People.

“As a hands-on registered nurse, Tarik has repeatedly demonstrated his focus for the needs of patients and healthcare colleagues,” states PSNA CEO Betsy M. Snook, MEd, BSN, RN. “Nurses are sick of talking. They want action. PSNA knows that Tarik will be a tireless advocate for nurses and Pennsylvanians.”

Funded by donations from Pennsylvania’s registered nurses, PSNA-PAC is the bi-partisan political action committee through which PSNA endorses pro-nursing candidates for Pennsylvania State House and State Senate.
