PSNA Hires Government Relations Specialist

The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA), representing more than 228,000 registered nurses in Pennsylvania, announced that Tom Dougherty has been named Government Relations Specialist. Dougherty will lead the Association’s strategic legislative platform and will educate and guide the efforts of PSNA members regarding professional nursing and healthcare issues.

Dougherty is a 2022 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University. During his time at Penn State, Dougherty was a State College Borough Student Representative, the Associate Director of the Pennsylvania Association of State Related Students, and chaired the Committee on Governmental Affairs of the University Park Undergraduate Association. Dougherty was also involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Four Diamonds Thon.

“We are excited to have Tom with us as Government Affairs Specialist,” stated PSNA Chief Executive Officer Wayne E. Reich, Jr. MSN, MBA, RN. “Tom’s energy, knowledge, and experience will be essential in moving forward with PSNA’s legislative priorities.”
