Pennsylvania State Nurses Association Long Time Member Honored by Centers For Disease Control

Harrisburg, PA, February 23, 2023 – The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA), representing more than 228,000 registered nurses in Pennsylvania, is pleased to share long time member Elizabeth “Betsy” Walls, RN, has been recognized as Pennsylvania’s PHEP Trailblazer from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Walls has served many roles during her PSNA membership, including President of the Board of Directors, President of PSNA’s charitable organization, the Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania (NFP), and in many committee positions. She has been a force in creating, maintaining, and adhering to PSNA bylaws and is a fierce supporter of the NFP, and she continues a high level of involvement in her retirement.

“Betsy has decades-long service to public health and the nurses of the Commonwealth through her service with PSNA,” stated PSNA Chief Executive Officer Wayne E. Reich, Jr. MSN, MBA, RN. “We can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honorary award, and we are thankful for her vital leadership and dedication to health care in Pennsylvania.
