FAQs
The Good Samaritan Act protects healthcare workers if they stop at the scene of an accident. However, it does not demand that they stop.
Request an application from PSNA. Return it to PSNA with the required fee. PSNA will approve and process the application and send it to PennDOT. Special organization plates are available for passenger cars, motor homes, and trucks with a registered gross weight of 9,000 pounds or less. Plates are issued in numerical sequence or, for an additional fee, can be personalized with up to five letters or numbers subject to availability and approval.
Choose from two prices payable to PSNA at the time of application: $100 for a non-personalized plate or $230 for a personalized plate. Of those amounts, PSNA pays PennDOT a special organization issuance fee of either $34 (non-personalized plate) or $170 (personalized plate). PSNA also pays Pennsylvania Correctional Industries $6 for each plate. The remainder is used to fund nursing education scholarships and to cover administrative/processing costs.
