Areas to assist include the PSNA table, breakfast and lunch set up, raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets, delivering things as needed to golfers, announcing and distributing prizes at the end of the outing, and more! Regaining Your Footing: Finding Stability and Security After a Workplace Violence Event will be held October 23 at Harrisburg University from 6 – 8 pm.
Violence against nurses is an epidemic. In the past decade, there has been a 110% spike in the rate of violent incidents reported against healthcare workers. Nearly 24,000 physical assaults in the workplace occur every year, with almost 75% affecting healthcare providers. More than 20% of RNs and nursing students report that they have been physically assaulted. According to the American Nurses Association, more than half of those nurses experienced verbal abuse within the last year. In many cases, violence is perpetrated by patients or their family members.
Join healthcare professionals, an RN victim of workplace violence, legislators, and PSNA leadership for a panel discussion to assist nurses and healthcare providers in preventing, navigating, and healing from violent events in the workplace.
