Recipients of NFP scholarships – both students and nurses returning to school – are able to advance their education and do meaningful work. This is a time for those who have benefited from highly qualified nurses to step up and invest in the profession.
Join us on November 3 for NFP’s first annual Black & Gold Gala. We are pleased to host speaker and author Lee Woodruff, The Bob Woodruff Foundation. The Woodruff Foundation assists injured service members and their families heal from the wounds of war. To date, the non-profit foundation has raised more than $40 million and invested in grassroots organizations and programs around the country that are helping veterans reintegrate into their communities.
In addition, NFP will be posthumously honoring M. Louise Fitzpatrick, former dean of the Villanova University College of Nursing, and Marilyn D. Harris, honorary trustees and home healthcare expert.

The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania (NFP), a supporting organization of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA), is now accepting scholarship applications. The following scholarships will be awarded:
- Florence (Madden) Grady-Fasick Scholarship Fund: The Florence (Madden) Grady-Fasick Scholarship Fund exists to provide scholarships to students demonstrating financial need in the pursuit of a nursing degree. Funds are for nursing students in their second semester or more of nursing school. This fund awards five $2,000 scholarships per year.
- NFP Future Nurse Leader Scholarship: NFP Future Nurse Leader Scholarship exists to provide scholarships to students demonstrating leadership skills in their pursuit of a nursing degree. Funds are for full-time nursing students in an accredited BSN program in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This fund awards two $1,000 scholarships per year.
- Jack E. Barger, Sr. Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund: The recipient must be at least one of the following: active duty service member, U.S. veteran, child/spouse of a veteran, or active duty service member. Recipients must be a resident of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate student. This fund awards six $1,000 scholarships per year.
- The Alumni Association Scholarship Fund of the Former Albert Einstein Medical Center – Nursing School of Philadelphia: This fund provides scholarships to students demonstrating financial need in the pursuit of a nursing degree, whether baccalaureate, graduate, or post-graduate. This fund awards five $2,000 scholarships per year.

Applications must be received by March 30, 2019. All applications must be submitted electronically via NFP’s website. Season 8 begins March 31 and includes 8 episodes. Participants can watch each episode live or stream on demand. Each episode must be viewed prior to participating in the Video Club call. A total of 16 contact hours are available. Contact hours will only be awarded for those calls in which you participate (2.0 contact hours per week).
Conference calls are held on the Thursday of each week from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Registrants of the Video Club will be e-mailed weekly “Thoughts-to-Ponder” and call-in information.
