Pennsylvania State Nurses Association Named Honorable Mention Recipient in Prestigious PR DAILY Social Media & Digital Awards

The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA) has been named an honorable mention recipient of PR Daily’s Social Media & Digital Awards in the Video category for its “Nursing in Crisis” campaign.

PR Daily’s Social Media & Digital Awards celebrates the teams, organizations, and agencies who have redefined the field with their groundbreaking work. PSNA was chosen from a wide pool of entries to receive an honorable mention in the Video category for the impact of its “Nursing in Crisis” campaign.

PSNA, representing over 228,000 registered nurses in Pennsylvania, released its video calling for urgent citizen action to reverse dramatic losses in nursing professionals due to unsafe working conditions, the COVID pandemic, and repeated natural disasters and emergencies. The video’s message complemented PSNA’s Patient Safety Act (House Bill 106 and Senate Bill 240), which limits the number of patients a nurse would can be assigned, depending on the level of care required.

“PSNA set themselves apart from an outstanding field of applicants. Their work was exceptional and displayed their innovative strategies for achieving success. Congratulations, PSNA. We look forward to your continued success,” said Brendan Gannon, Senior Marketing Manager for Awards Programs at Ragan Communications.

“Research shows that nurses are leaving the profession in droves and patient care will suffer. In fact, recent surveys report that 29% of nurses said their desire to leave the field is significantly higher than before the pandemic,” stated PSNA CEO Wayne Reich. “Nurses lack support. Nurses are stretched too thin. Nurses are exhausted.”
